“You hear some of the clients that I’m on the phone to, they are so thankful and so nice. I just love it. I can’t wait until I can go out caring.”
SRS Care Solutions strongly believe in creating fair opportunities for young people. By offering fundamental experience, our apprentices are able to gain formal qualifications alongside carrying out work duties. This allows them to gain invaluable insights into the industry while learning to balance a multitude of responsibilities.
Our office junior, Brooke (16), tells us more about what she has experienced in her time at SRS.
Brooke’s passion for care and eagerness to learn shines through her and she has become a vital part of our team. Her role involves answering phone calls and dealing with queries in which she comments has drastically improved her communication skills, especially with people she doesn’t know. She thinks care is a rewarding job that offers an array of opportunities and by working towards completing an apprenticeship with SRS she has been able to develop and learn new skills. Brooke believes that the role revolves around a relationship of trust. She quotes that her biggest achievement is being trusted to complete highly confidential pieces of work.
“I enjoy my work surprisingly, being in the office is such a great environment and I look forward to it every day. Not only are we hard-working, we also know how to have a bit of fun.”
Working with SRS brought a big adjustment to Brooke’s life but one she believes was for the better. She is now more focused and engaged with a regular routine to adhere to. She hopes to get to the level of Gail (director), Jill (Divisional Manager), and Kerry (Deputy Manager). Commenting – It’s going to be a challenge because nothing comes for free. I am looking forward to being able to go out and care, helping people is something that has always had a place in my heart.
