We recently spoke with Evelyn about working in the SRS Care Solutions West Lothian team as a Community Management Supervisor:
What does a successful day look like to you?
“When all the care plans are in place, and I can leave the office knowing that all of our clients are happy.”
What is your favourite part of your job?
“I enjoy meeting new clients and visiting our current ones too.”
What is the most challenging part of your job?
“The biggest challenge recently was coping with the covid pandemic. Changing the way in which we had to work and being short on staff was a challenge, but we certainly rose to the occasion, and I believe we’re in a stronger position than ever.”
What would you say to those looking to work in care?
“It’s a very rewarding job. Seeing happy clients makes all the hard work worthwhile. No two days are ever the same and SRS take very good care of their staff.”
What traits do you think a person should have to be a Carer?
“It might sound a little obvious, but they must be caring. Empathy and sincerity are vital, as is having a warm, positive and friendly attitude.”
What would you say the opportunities are like within SRS Care for career progression?
“Excellent. I started in the company as a Carer and progressed to Care Management Supervisor in a short space of time. You are constantly learning which is a very enjoyable aspect of working with SRS.”
