Carer Success Stories: Jenna Lumsden, HR Assistant
Our team at SRS Care Solutions is diverse, with many of us working in the background to keep our care service running smoothly.
Whether developing care delivery improvements or supporting our carers, we constantly strive to make the lives of our service users and their families easier.
We recently spoke to HR Assistant, Jenna Lumsden, about why she finds her career so fulfilling.
Can you tell us about how your career began at SRS Care?
“I was given the opportunity to work within the finance department which I really enjoyed and that helped me to grow and develop my skills. When the opportunity came up to work in HR, I jumped at it. It has given me a chance to learn more about how the business operates and to further enhance my skills and knowledge base.”
How has your career progressed?
“So far, my time here has been great. My colleagues are very friendly and welcoming, and they’re always there to help me out when I need it. It’s clear that all our team care about each other and the company. I look forward to coming to work every day!”
What does a successful day look like?
“Finishing all my work, knowing that I’ve helped my fellow colleagues or carers with any queries that they may have. I enjoy getting to interact with so many different people every day. Being able to go home feeling satisfied with the work I’ve done is a sign of a successful day.”
What is your favourite part of the job?
“I enjoy many aspects of my role from the admin to helping staff with any problems they may have. Working in an office with such a positive atmosphere is also a big plus, and I’m always inspired by my colleagues’ passion for what they do.”
What do you think makes SRS Care stand out from other care companies?
“We have a very dedicated team of staff from carers to registered managers and other professional employees who work hard to make sure our service users’ needs are always met. We’re all very approachable, helpful, and knowledgeable and always ready to assist in any way we can.”
What would you say to those thinking of working in care?
“It’s a very rewarding job and I feel like I’m constantly learning. There is so much room for growth and development within this company. Every day is different, and I like how challenging it is – you feel like you’ve accomplished a lot after a day of work. Working in care makes a big difference in people’s lives.”
